Located to the north of London, Stansted Airport ( commonly misspelled as Stanstead
) was first used as an airbase during 1942.
In 1985, Stansted was given permission
to handle up to 8 million passengers a year, and is now handling over 16 million,
with that figure expected to rise to 25 million by 2010.
